I chaired the board of the company operating Atucha I, Atucha II and Embalse. During my tenure, I signed the Candu Energy memorandum to open international opportunities for Argentina’s nuclear expertise.

The institutional responsibility
The shareholders’ meeting on 23 April 2025 appointed me President of Nucleoeléctrica’s Board. I served until February 2026. The company operates and maintains Atucha I, Atucha II and Embalse and sells their electricity in the wholesale market.
During my presidency, I worked on nuclear strategy and international technology relationships. One concrete opportunity was to connect the engineering and operating experience accumulated in Argentina with projects abroad. The Candu Energy agreement established a framework for that cooperation.

The agreement with Candu Energy
On 17 November 2025, I signed a memorandum of understanding with Candu Energy CEO Gary Rose at the Canadian Embassy in Buenos Aires. Candu Energy is part of AtkinsRéalis.
The agreement connected Nucleoeléctrica’s operating and technical experience with Candu Energy’s international reach. It established a cooperation framework for engineering, technical assistance, maintenance and life extension of CANDU plants.
What the agreement established
The memorandum established a framework for cooperation on life extension, planned outages and future nuclear developments in Canada and internationally. It also envisaged Candu Energy’s participation in opportunities within Argentina’s nuclear programme.
The signed memorandum is the documented outcome. Specific contracts, engineering scopes and revenue depend on subsequent agreements. My contribution was to formalize this route for cooperation during my board presidency.
